Spring Fling Cancelled |
The Annual Volunteer Recognition Event, Colonial CASA's Spring Fling, has been cancelled. The Spring Fling was scheduled for April 29th at the home of Robin and Bob Bledsoe. Unfortunately, there were a lot of scheduling conflicts for many of the CASA volunteers. We are in the process of finding another date consistent with everyone's schedules to celebrate your hard work, dedication, and commitment! |

Community Resources Available Online |
The Colonial CASA staff consistently searches for ways to make the volunteer's job easier. This goal is primarily achieved through volunteer feedback. For instance, we have created/provided: monthly meetings for volunteers to meet with staff and peers, the e-newsletter, and a Community Resource Directory identifying all of the available resources in the community, without the confidential information of social workers and attorneys, all at a volunteer's suggestion.
The CASA volunteers thought such a resource directory would be helpful for them to offer to the families they serve. In the fall of 2005, this directory was created. Now, to further facilitate the dissemination of this information, the Community Resource Directory has been put on the Colonial CASA website! If you go to the website, and click on the left hand menu for Casa Links, you will see a link to Community Resources and a link to Frequently Used Terms. I encourage all of you to visit the website and play with these new tools. |

Colonial CASA Welcomes 7 New Volunteers |
On April 13, 2006, a new crop of CASA volunteers were sworn into service. We are happy to announce the induction of this outstanding group of 7 and are sincerely looking forward to working with them. They will be an excellent addition to our already outstanding and dedicated group of CASAs. Again, the community and the children we serve are lucky to have you all! |
