National CASA

Colonial CASA is a member organization of National CASA, a network of over 1,000 local community program offices across the country. The mission of the National CASA, together with its state and local members, is to support and promote court-appointed volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children so that they can thrive in safe, permanent homes.

For the latest information on what is happening nationally, please visit National CASA’s News & Events page.

Colonial CASA was invited to serve an additional, neighboring jurisdiction, York County and City of Poquoson in late 2008, and received a National CASA program Expansion Grant in 2009 to begin this process.  Additional Advocates, and staff hours to train and supervise, were needed to accommodate this judicial request, and expansion is now  underway.  An additional year of NCASA grant support  for 2010 will be instrumental in cementing the expansion.
